Christopher Lee
Actor

As I've said before, Christopher Lee is my all time favorite actor. I grew up watching him in Hammer films, and continue to see just about every movie that comes out that he is in. The first photo, an 8x10 signed in green marker, is an old "Christopher Lee International Fan Club"photo from the 1970s. Mr. Lee signed a ton of these in the day, and it still has the fan club sticker with it. A few years ago, when he had the store up on his website, he had a few of these from the 70s still for sale. The signature on this on is in good shape, although the photo itself shows numerous minor creases. The second is a 4x6 signed in blue sharpie, and is in mint condition. It was signed during the late 1980s. You might notice that the signatures look a bit different. Although Mr. Lee has a very consistent signature, people signatures change over time. One of the most different Christopher Lee signatures I've ever seen was in a copy of Dracula owned by Forrest J Ackerman. That particular example showed some commonalities with the green marker signature, along with some features I haven't seen in other examples. Below are signatures of Mr. Lee from my collection, arranged (approximate) date signed from the 1970s example in this post to the 1999 example from my copy of Mr. Lee's autobiography.

Ian McKellen
Actor

The second photo waiting for me when I got back from Anime Boston this morning, a wonderful 8x10 color photo signed by Ian McKellen. Mr. McKellen has been one of my favorite actors for a long time, and I'll be looking forward to seeing him in the next installment of The Hobbit. I was quite surprised to see this, as I only sent it to London about a month ago.

Chuck Yeager
Aviation Legend

I returned from Anime Boston 2013 this morning to find two photos waiting for me in the mail. The first was this one, a black and white 8x10 signed by retired general Chuck Yeager. I've always found aviation history fascinating, and Gen. Yeager is certainly one of the great aviation pioneers. If you aren't familiar with him, he was the first person to fly faster than the speed of sound. Via www.chuckyeager.com.

Monica Rial, Micah Solusod & Zach Bolton
Voice Actors & ADR Director

Well, this last weekend (5/24/13) I accompanied my girlfriend to Anime Boston. Right after we got into town we rushed over to the Hynes Convention Center and hopped in the autograph lines. We only attempted two lines, but managed to get in towards the front of both of them. Our reward was meeting Monica Rial, Micah Solusod & Zach Bolton. All three worked on the recent anime Soul Eater, with Monica playing Tsubaki, Micah playing Soul and Zach Bolton being the ADR director. The experience was something else, I couldn't believe how many people were crammed into the Hynes on Saturday, but it was nice to do something new. Monica, Micah and Zach all seemed really nice. With any luck I'll have the chance to fill out the other voice actors featured in the show. The first is a color 4x6 photo, and the second is the last page of the convention booklet.

Chuck Norris
Actor and Martial Artist

Signed 8x10 of famed martial artist Chuck Norris that came in the mail yesterday morning! I grew up watching Mr. Norris in "Walker, Texas Ranger." Seeing him on there inspired me to earn my black belt when I was younger, something I accomplished soon after graduating high school. Although I am certainly no Chuck Norris I did eventually rise to second degree black belt. In my particular school there was a probationary black belt before first degree, so my rank when I fell away from martial arts equaled 3rd degree in most schools. Via Mr. Norris' website.

Tom Baker
First Day Cover

Signed limited first day cover featuring Tom Baker as The Doctor in the Doctor Who episode "Warrior's Gate." From the BBC's distributor for these via David Tennant's online shop.
